The missions include drowning prevention, public safety personnel safety, homicidal drowning research, and community assistance with drownings and homicidal drowning cases. RIPTIDE is currently publishing as an on-line magazine to replace SORTIE magazine. If you liked SORTIE Magazine you will love RIPTIDE Magazine. Contact us for information about what you can do for RIPTIDE and what RIPTIDE can do for you. We are taking equipment donations to sell to raise funds.. www.rip-tide.org Many of you have asked, "What happened to SORTIE Magazine?" As you may know we were responsible for the magazine's content and Mark York was the publisher. It became far too expensive to publish the magazine because advertisers were not paying and too many readers did not understand they needed to order subscriptions instead of expecting the issues to be sent to them for free. It costs a great deal to publish a high quality magazine. So the good news is that RIPTIDE will be taking the project over with the incredible assistance of Argos Networks (our server and webmasters). The Lifeguard Systems On-line Equipment Catalog is constantly being updated. Check it out by clicking on the On-Line Catalog link on the www.teamlgs.com homepage. Currently only about 40% of our products are on it. If you have not joined the RIPTIDE water operation discussion group you are missing out on a free and useful educational forum. Subscribe at www.wateroperations.com For back discussions (to be tethered or not to be tethered, how to be tethered, moving water diving, dress times, weightbelts, thermal imaging, standards, ...) contact us. Previous postings are being made available through www.TeamLGS.com then click PSD Discussion Group Archives. Past postings sorted by subject. Our updated Homicide Drowning Investigator and Public Safety Diver Self Preservation courses have received excellent feedback.. Call for host proposals for these programs. Its time to book your Surface Ice and Ice Diving courses. Karen will be glad to take your call. We are also taking bookings for Swiftwater and Small Boat courses for spring of 2008. Call for our program proposal with surface and subsurface rescue and recovery courses for law enforcement, fire, EMS, and military personnel. Lifeguard Systems is certifying public safety divers from basic diver to Instructor level. Find out about our high standard surface and diving NFPA compliant programs.
